We had just filmed a video series and I knew that we would need a disclaimer or possibly more before we sold them. Hillary spent an hour on the phone with me because she liked the subject matter (verbal, mental, and physical self defense for women). She watched all the videos and wrote us the appropriate disclaimer, fast and inexpensively. In addition, she has been kind enough to stay in touch and get us an introduction for a couple of speaking gigs on the topic! She far exceeded our expectations. It was easy enough to get a call. Hillary and her office were responsive. I was initially told it would take 2–3 days to provide a demand letter. Almost two weeks later, she emailed to say she preferred that I find a different attorney. The reason given was her belief that I did not have permission to use certain documentation in my claim, despite my explaining multiple times that I did. Overall, I found my interactions with Hillary to be rude and condescending.

Found this attorney through our legal plan. Contacted the attonrey through their website detailing all information. Next day received an email from her assistant asking me for details and our plan information. Clearly they are not reading their emails, but went ahead and emailed directly our information. Called the next day to follow up but could only reach a receptionist. She even said...oh we love your legal plan. She took down my information. The next day I finally got a response from the attorney that their caseload was too large to be able to assist us. Couldn't they have done this on day one. Why even have a website or a contact form if you're not taking on new clients. Very pathetic.

Complete waste of time, save your time. I contacted the office went through the interview questions later to be contacted for more details on the matter only to be told I couldn’t be helped “ due to our firm’s current caseload” without even giving a referral simply dismissed. Poor service.

My wife and I contacted Hillary to assist us with a dispute with our landlord. At first, Hillary was attentive and helpful. However, Hillary then sent us a scathing rant of an email terminating further services over her perception that we were unreasonable (our "crime" was sending a one-line follow up email three days later). Even if we were unreasonable as clients, her response was unbecoming as a professional and more fitting for your crazy aunt on Facebook. She could easily have just told us she would not help us, or that we needed to better respect boundaries if she perceived us too demanding, but instead she chose to unleash her stream of consciousness into a rambling diatribe that honestly made me just feel bad for her, like watching a small child during a tantrum. Would avoid her at all costs, was completely caught off guard how unprofessional she was and how easily she could lose her composure. Hopefully she can keep it together a little better in court for the sake of those she represents.

Our experience with Hilary was very frustrating. Initially she was very responsive, and on the first phone call validated our concerns with apartment pests. She told us that she would write us a demand letter and guide us through the entire process. She encouraged us to stop paying rent immediately and demand back all fees, including our security deposit. She quickly wrote us a demand letter. We proofread it, and asked her a few questions back the next day (such as, are we allowed to ask for our security deposit if we are not moving out yet). Two days later, Hilary responded with an updated letter, but without answering our questions. We followed up saying the letter looked good, and repeated our questions. She responded that day saying she never received the questions. We sent the questions again, and in her next response Hilary answered our questions (including noting that we could not ask for the security deposit before vacating the premises) and told us that she would no longer have us as clients. We informed her that we were confused and had trouble reconciling her dropping us as clients without warning. She responded that in her view, we needed more attention than she could provide and so she would no longer have us as clients. I have since spoken to two additional lawyers and they have contradicted much of Hilary's advice to us. In particular, they both strongly discouraged us from cutting off rent. They argued that cutting off rent would immediately cause the landlord to take us to court. Even if we won eventually, any earnings would be less than the court fees for not paying our rent. All-in-all I found our interactions with Hilary to be deeply confusing and after additional legal advice, concerning.
